It's been over three years since the last official league was held. If another league was organized, would you participate?

Totally. I have a few friends who would likely join too.

I don't think there are enough players left. I mean each team needs at least 5 members to play, and a league with 4 teams total isn't really that entertaining.

Maybe it can be 3v3 or 2v2 to make it more interesting.

A 6 vs 6 sounds good. However, we would need to publicise it, or something. We could try 4chan boards such as /v/, reddits, ect, and try to get more people playing. For the matches, we could just do CTF. First team to cap enemy intel 3 to 5 times wins. Oh, and of course we need teams.

I was thinking 8 teams of 4. I'm sure we could get 32 players to participate. 3v3 is a good idea, too. A 6v6 means that there would be 48 players who would want to join (if we had 8 teams), which might be a bit drastic. Green_Surprised2

I want to keep the number of teams at 8 because that would have 3 rounds - qualifiers, semi-finals and finals.

I also want to either do classic CTF or ToW as the game mode. Thoughts?

Arena is not capable for competitive play because you can spectate dead people in third person to get player information from your opponents.

OpenSpades should also be banned for the league or put in a seperate list because it is not similar to classic which results in abusable opportunitys.

If you want to play CS you can just play it. There's no real reason to play a gamemode where you can't actually build.

Now, if you are suggesting arena with building/destruction turned on, that sounds fun. Kind of like Due Process or Rainbow Six: Siege.

Speaking of Due Process: Onigiri uploaded some videos playing a map called "Deuce Process". Looks very fun to play competitively and is arena-like. I have not been able to get the files for it yet though:

OpenSpades spread values and recoil values are accurate since 0.1.1. 0.1.0 should definitely be banned though.

I recently implemented full first-person spectating (sights etc) for OpenSpades which means we could turn third-person spectating off, but of course not everyone uses OpenSpades.

Another thing that could be done pretty simply is turning off world updates for dead players, but that would make things very boring while you are dead.

I think classic CTF would be nice.

Nope, 0.1.1c is still not accurate. Classic AoS has a different recoil pattern while jumping, noscoping and noscoping while either W,A,S or D is pressed. The recoil is identical in every movement state in the current OS version, only crouching is reducing it. This must be fixed as soon as possible.

It'll be difficult to get enough people, but I'm all for it.
