How to join: Registration is closed.
Name of your Empire:
Location (if possible, edit the aforeposted map):
Capital location: (if possible, edit the aforeposted map):
Colour:
Upon joining, you will be granted 10 territories, unless you start on an island that has less than 10 territories, in which case you will be given as many as possible. You cannot start in corners of the map or in territories at least 2 tiles next to the corners of the map. There is a maximum of
20 players. In case more than 20 players apply, some players may be removed from the registration, based on their reputation/past behavior/sportsmanship. Eventually no more entries will be accepted. Registration lasts until Saturday 23/11.
Diplomacy:
Diplomacy will be conducted by the players. You are free, and encouraged, to make alliances, NAPs, etc.
Players in an alliance are unable to attack each other but are able to trade territories. To attack an ally, you have to break the alliance, which takes 1 turn (independent of expanding/attacking/trading). Players in a NAP (Non-Aggression-Pact) also need 1 turn after breaking the Pact but cannot trade territories. Turning a NAP into an alliance also takes 1 turn.
Rolls:
Each turn you may choose to expand, attack (by yourself or in a coalition), or perform a trade. First to post (each turn) gets to roll first.
You are required to post every turn!!! Logs from chats, queries, mumble conversations, etc will NOT be taken into consideration. You can not surrender (remove all your territories), but you can lend or permanently give control of your country to another player if you are unable to post or can't be bothered anymore.
- Expanding: You will be given 1 to 12 territories depending on the roll. You will expand in all directions or in a specified direction in a three-wide line at least. From round 3 onwards, you will be allowed to expand via a sea route. In this case, this formula will be used:
Territories gained= Roll*2 - Sea distance (via shortest route) - 8
The amount of gained territories is limited to 10 in this case.
Attacking: When you are attacking a country, both will roll. Scores are calculated like this:
roll (1 to 12)+(territory count/2)+battle experience
The amount of territories gained by the winner is equal to the roll if the winner was attacking or to 1/2 of the roll if he was defending. If your country has lost all its capitals, its score will be reduced by 30%. You will receive territories in a minimum three-wide line. After every 1v1 battle, both players will receive 1 point of battle experience.
Joining a coalition: If another player has attacked a third party, you can join either. You have to border both the attacked and the attacker to join the coalition of either. Your countries will be counted as a single entity only for the duration of the battle, having as territory count the sum of both countries' and as battle experience the average. The total battle score of the coalition is reduced by 10% per each player that entered it (eg. 90% with 2, 70% with 4). If the country in combat (attacked or attacks) is split into 2 or more pieces, the pieces will attack as a coalition, as if they were different players.
Gains and losses are divided, when possible, equally. You will be given territories in a minimum three-wide line. If all countries in a coalition have lost all their capitals, the coalition's score will be reduced by 30%. Each member of the party that was in the minority in the battle (eg. 2v3,) will receive a bonus 2 battle xp in addition to the usual 1 xp. The maximum amount of territories gained by the coalition is equivalent to 6*members of the victorious coalition.
If by the time your turn comes and you are no longer touching the exact person in the exact area you said to attack, you will
not carry out a move that round, so think carefully.
I would also like to point out that editing your posts right before the update is a pussy move.
Trading territories:
You are allowed to make one trade each round with a player you share a common border with. This will take the entire round and make expanding/attacking unavailable, so think carefully. The amount of territories is limited by 20% of the size of the smaller country's total territory count. Eg. Country with 100 territories trades with country of 180 territories. The limit is 20 territories traded in that exchange that round. You may only trade with one country per round. All trades must be in a 1:1 ratio, and capitals cannot be traded. It's very recommended to post an image of the desired trade, preferably showing the traded territories in a different color if you want your trades to be done as you want them to be.
Bonuses:
Every certain turn, players will be allowed to choose for a bonus to their empire that will take effect next turn. The bonuses are:
- Gain +2 territories in the next turn's land expansion.
- Have +5 total battle score (added after % decreases) in all battles fought next turn. This bonus can stack for coalitions as well.
- Reduce score requirement for sea expansion by 2 for next turn.
- Gain +1 battle xp (even if not fighting anyone).
The turns are:
1) Turn 2
2) Turn 7
3) Turn 11
4) Turn 15
5) Turn 18
---
16) Turn 51
17) Turn 54.
18) Turn 57.
19) Turn 60.
And so on, every 3 turns afterwards.
