heightmapping tools

Hi all!
If you are trying to use the Buildramer importer and are tired of looking at a black canvas, and painting near black gradients, then I have a thread for you!!
I made a tool to aid in heightmap creation, it is listed in my signature. It will be re-released in a few hours from now.
There are some other tools out there too that you guys might find useful for making the heightmap:

My favorite comercial app is this:

World machiene is a node based application, very complex, but also very rewarding!
Here is a really simple one, http://hme.sourceforge.net/
they do not offer the same amount of control as my height mapper template, but they do have an easy 1 button operation.
