Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... M.ML&hl=en

It's for Android, but I'm not sure if there is an iOS version.

It's $6.99 US, if I remember correctly

It's essentially Modern Warfare 2 for your phone, except the story is actually decent. It runs well on a Droid X2, which is a low to mid range phone, probably closer to the low end of things. It has two sequels, Modern Combat 3 and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. I haven't tried MC3, as everyone on the App Store says it sucks, but MC4 is great, except I get around 10 FPS on my phone. I wouldn't recommend MC4 unless you have a newer phone.

There is a decent selection of weapons, but customization is very limited. The bodies don't ragdoll (although they do in MC4, which uses Havok physics!), but the animation is very smooth and the voice lines vary. The AI is pretty good as well. The multiplayer is very fun, but the touch controls limit quick-scoping, fast turns, etc. a bit too much for my liking.

All in all, I recommend this game to anyone with a smartphone newer than 2011.

I would get modern combat 4 on my ipod touch, but i don't want to waste 1gb on a game since it's 8gb.

There's the port of Knights of the Old Republic, that's on the Ipad and Iphone now. If you haven't, the game is awesome, and if you have, it's always cool to be able to play it on your phone. 10$, but worth it for what is basically one of the best RPG's around.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (and the new HD app that let's you play all three games) is also fun, the Ace Attorney app (outdated) is around 5$, and the new HD versions are sold through one app (not sure how much they cost).

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is lot's of fun, as it's a direct (I think) port of the fighting game. The only downside is you have to use points to earn new characters and stages (not money points, but in-game ones you earn for playing), but still worth it. Around $5.

Pretty much all of my recommendations are portable ports of regular games, so I don't feel the need to list the rest.

Carmageddon, Star Command, Plague Inc., and a few more games that I'm too lazy to list.
