Introduction
Hello there, if you are reading this thread then you are more likely than not looking for a way to appeal your ban on a server. This is a thread outlining how to properly appeal your ban. Please follow the instructions given, as they will streamline and quicken your appeal process immensely. Thank you.
General Appeal Conduct
When you are appealing your ban, there are a few important things to take into consideration that will help you a great deal over the course of your appeal. If you follow them, then you should have no trouble, and you will be unbanned in no time.
-First thing's first, please do not appeal for votekicks. They wear off in 30 minutes (sometimes less, depending on the server), so if you're already here and you were votekicked, just wait out the remaining 20-something minutes of your kick.
-Secondly, remember to always be honest in your appeals. It may seem like a stupid idea at first, but evidence is almost always provided for bans, so you can be caught lying. In addition, if you are honest, your ban is almost always shortened, especially if it's a permanent ban.
-Next, remember to remain polite and patient during your appeal process. Keep in mind that administrators have lives too, and that they are not online around the clock. So, do not fret and start spamming the forum if your appeal is not responded to within 5 seconds.
-Finally, please respect the decision of the administrators. Do not go around sending angry PM's to people, do not start new threads, no, no, no. If your appeal for a permanent ban is denied, more often than not you can sit out for an unnamed period of time, then after a while come back and appeal, and they will most likely forgive you.
Appealing
These next couple of sections will give you basic guidelines on how to appeal, as well as link you to the appropriate site for whichever server you are banned from.
Appealing Instructions
There are two main ways to come in contact with the server administrators: Via a forum site, and via an IRC channel, whether it be on Quakenet or LDRoT. I would recommend registering on the forums and using them for your appeals, as that is where the server-specific guides on how to appeal are located, but you should visit the IRC if you have any questions, as there are almost always people around to help you out.
*Please read all of the stickied threads on each individual site, as these will help streamline your process further and give you instructions on how to appeal.*
