Awesome!, could it be made into a Client for 0.75?
If you are talking about the OpenGL map viewer, it's theorically feasible. However, an aos type of game isn't just a graphics engine.
There is also collisions management, raycasting and maybe one of the hardest part...networking !
All these things requires a lot of work.

If your talking about iceball, see GreaseMonkey's answer in the Iceball thread

If you really wanted to I guess we could make an injector of some sort. I'm not familiar with WGL context creation though. Also, you'd have to work out how to make it work well at a max distance of 127.5 blocks - Iceball currently uses a fog distance of 60.
The map viewer already has a slightly higher view distance than AoS 0.75 so it wouldn't be an issue I guess (maybe tweak the current view distance to match better the AoS 0.75 one).
However, I'm afraid injecting would be platform specific (only working in Windows) and would require a lot of CPU power (the original game in addition of the alternate render engine wether it's iceball or the OpenGL map viewer).

yes platform specific, no not huge overhead, since you would substitute the game rendering with your custom rendering, thus skipping the game rendering...

You are damn right.
However, I imagine it would be a hudge amount of work for eventually not being to alter easily the core game and gameplay.

Lighting on ultra for OpenSpades looks (slightly) better then what you see here.

No, the lighting is more 'modern' but that does not make it better

Modern or not, ultra OpenSpades lighting is better if you compare the same resolution.

This is amazing. I am learning some advance techniques in OpenGL but what I know now pales in comparison. I salute thee.

How exactly do you manage to open up such extensions as a model with C++ and OpenGl?
