Blockspell will be releasing sometime next year! Development has been proceeding rapidly now that I have the time to work on the game. Beta testing should be starting soon as well.

Choose your side in this multiplayer stealth game between the high powered Guards and the fast and elusive Thieves using your wits to outsmart the enemies or just make your way to the goal using bullets. It's a game with simple rules, emergent gameplay and very high replayability. You'll love it :D...

I've been busy with school lately so I haven't had any time to work on Blockspell. Christmas break is about to start, which means I should have way more time to work on the game. will it load .vxl maps? Yes! I may also add support for other formats (or extend the vxl format) to allow larger sized ma...

Just a quick update: I've decided to delay the Kickstarter until next year. This will allow me the time that I need to move the client code over to a new Unity based engine and continue to improve the server. This also means that I will continue working on Blockspell in my spare time only. I am doin...

The Ravenloft picture was posted earlier this year (February 2013) to facilitate some technical discussion on the polyvox forums (I use the polyvox C++ library in B...

what is the engine built on / with? do you have some ingame screens / a tech demo? Currently the game is being built in Irrlicht. I'm currently evaluating a move to Unity - probably using the Cubiquity plugin. Last time I tested out the Cubiquity plugin I found that the performance was too poor to ...

<snip> Here are two screenshots comparing the engine that I've been working on for my game (Blockspell) with Open Spades 0.6. As you can see, the colors in open spades are quite dull. I think it's a lot harder to differentiate terrain from players with the dull colors. Wow your version does look be...

This looks pretty good! There are still some things that need to be added such as tracers (and fix the nades). Otherwise it's pretty solid

An interesting tool that I found today: https://voxel.codeplex.com/
I did not make this tool. It can export and import .vox, .3ds and .obj files.

Duly note that the problems with first past the post: tactical voting, gerrymandering, political party effects, campaign funding and the spoiler effect should not be a problem for a vote on an internet video.
I suggest recreating the poll using the forum mechanism.
