I've repurposed my (pretty unpopular) Babel server to make a free-for-all server running with a custom map generator, it does generate a huge tower which is more or less a 3D labyrinth.

10 floors, 256 128 blocks wide, you can simply get lost in it Green_Happy1

Mode: laby (mashup of babel, intelrpg and one_ctf)
Maps: Labyrinth (generated)

Additional features: regen +3HP/sec and grenade teleport
Bugs:
  • if the map ever rotate, everyone will gets disconnected
  • sometimes you spawn in a wall, sorry

that opening in the side looks like the stairs i dug to the top :)

quite a funny map, but with a small amount of players it's too big..

UPDATE
  • Added rooms (a bit empty as for now Green_Happy1 )
  • Added real stairs between floors
  • All points in a floors are now connected, this ensures there is a path to the top without building.
  • Small passages were pruned

Fixed. (Lesson: not everybody should be an admin)

Update
  • Switched back to babel mode
  • Tower is now only half the dimension (128x128) so 4 times less blocks
  • Disable map rotation on victory (I like what it does on Icecraft Babel server)

UPDATE:
  • added entrance halls
  • added inner balcony around rooms
  • fix a stair wall bug
  • lowest level is a bit darker
  • fixed spawn location to avoid excessive spawn-killing
The server now seems regularly populated. But feedback is low so please answer in the thread if you want a specific change.
I'm currently thinking of a solution to gently force people to sometimes use the labyrinth instead of bypassing it. Most probably the intel will spawn in any level instead of the top (but still around the center).

UPDATE
  • the intel now spawns at a random location in the labyrinth.
  • use /INTEL to know at which floor the intel is.
So the game is a sort of 1ctf.

/FLOOR command update:
  • now outputs both the player location and the intel location
  • given intel location is now correct
  • automatically called regularly
