Yes that is right, The Guinness Book of World Records Gamer Edition 2013 rightfully gives credit to Ben Aksoy for developing Ace of Spades. Don't believe us look on page 177 and see for yourself. JDrew, our book reading specialist, discovered this gem after buying the book at a book fair.

Lastest BnS Launcher Info
The launcher is out and you can download it hereIt can determine which version of the game a server is running and launch the appropriate client. Right now it is limited to 0.75 and 0.76. And you will need to have both versions installed prior installing the launcher. The secret to this is renaming the C:/Ace of Spades directory to something like C:/Ace of Spades 75 before installing 0.76. In the future we will install any version of the game we support from the launcher.
We have a lot a planned around the launcher. Authing, player stats, game analytics, leagues, etc. StackOverflow is going to have a live Q&A on (QuakeNet)IRC to answer all your questions about the Laucher. Q&A Event will take place at #BuildandShoot some time next week, stay turned to the News & Scheduled Events section to find out official date and time.
Last Stand Gamemode
Influx recently updated his new gamemode, Last Stand. In Last Stand, the two teams are assigned to attack or defend. Attackers have an infinite amount of lives and choose whether they spawn north, south, east or west, while defenders have only one life. The goal of the attackers is to either kill all of the defenders or capture the defender's flag by standing near it before the time runs out. The longer it takes, the higher a score the defenders get. Once the match ends, the teams swap roles.

Exclusive Interview: Influx
<danhezee> 1) how did you discover Ace of Spades?Check out more of Influx's creations here
<danhezee> 2) What has kept your interested in the game for so long?
<danhezee> 3) What are your plans for the development of Last Stand as far as features and bug fixes go?
<danhezee> 4) What sources of inspiration do you use for your maps and mods?
<danhezee> 5) Tell us a little about yourself, your past, present, and future self?
<Influx> 1) Through the RPS article "10 Reasons Why You Need to Play Ace of Spades". I was on my lunch break at work and read it, and swore to myself to give it a try when I got home.
<Influx> 2) Definitely the customisation. Classicgen was great because you could build whatever fort you want and they would become the focal point of a map, with one team defending and one team trying to destroy. I'm a creative person and I've always made things to benefit the community when I've enjoyed a game a lot, and mapping with Ace of Spades is what's really kept me hooked.
<Influx> 3) There's no definite plans for the future of Last Stand, it's still early days. Bug fixes will definitely be a priority, but planned features fall into two categories; Ones I will be adding, and ones I would like to add but I don't know how to code it. The script was basically the first thing I'd made after I taught myself from reading other people's codes, so it's been very much a learning experience, and I've still got a lot to learn
<Influx> 4) Some maps come from my interests or experiences - the WWII maps come from my interest in that time period, Summer Fields coming from scenery I see quite often. Sometimes, though, a particular topic or theme will just hit me out of nowhere. I guess that, if someone would have told me when I made Normandie about some of the maps I've went on and made, I'd have called them crazy.
<Influx> 5) Well, I'm 22 (well, I'm really 21 but I guess by the time the newsletter is out, my birthday will have been and gone), and I'm from England. I have a daughter who's 2 years old, I collect guitars (and sometimes even play them), enjoy playing and watching football (soccer). At the moment I'm working for a company that make industrial pipes - it's about as interesting as it sounds.
<Influx> 5) (cont) As for my future plans, I do plan on moving abroad at some point in the next few years. Undecided as to where, but with my area of work, places like Canada or Australia would be easy to get a visa for, or maybe Germany because I studied it for about 5 years at school.
