Play a custom, self moderated game - without the need to host a server of your own!
Select your prefered time span, gamemode, map and a few other server settings on the website and you will be automatically given a server link and a personal password for the server, ready to use at your chosen time.
Try it out at http://sauerkraut.de.hm
(No registration required)
You can use this for example to play a match with your friends, against a clan, host an event, for training or just to try out some unusual gamemode & map combinations. There is currently a choice of 17 gamemodes, a variety of maps (each with a preview image) and you can select a time span for your game up to 48 hours ahead (first come, first served). The moderation rights you will be able to use include /ban, /lock, /switch, /cancel and others.

Intriguing and well thought-out system you have here.
I'm guessing limited resources is the reason for reserved time slots and hard time limits? It would be a bummer if a competitive or just enjoyable game is going on when the time limit is reached. Shutting down a server only when there are less than 4 players after 2 hours or anytime after the last player disconnects would be ideal.

izzy wrote:I'm guessing limited resources is the reason for reserved time slots and hard time limits?Yes, another reason is that it was the least effort way to make it work.
Now there are 2 servers (one for 0.75 and one for 0.76) and every time slot a script runs to see if there is a new game to start (or a previous game to stop). So each server can hold a maximum of 12 games a day.

I might work on such improvements if there's enough interest in custom games.

I think this is a great job! I maybe use this opportunity to create my own custom game.
Do I need to have some special permission to use the server, or is it free to everyone?
Btw. I've played on Sauerkraut server and there was some really good script which changed the shotgun to grenade launcher.

Just use the website to select your game preferences and it will give you a serverlink (and a login password) for your game. Feel free to test it out http://sauerkraut.de.hm

Very nice done! But I think a good feature would be if you could upload your own Maps/.VXL files.

However, i will add gamemodes and maps from time to time, you can check out this page, it always prints out the currently available maps: http://sauerkraut.bplaced.net/info/mapchoice.php
